Special Fundraiser for Nepal Flood Victim Relief

Massive flash floods tore through Nepal on Aug. 26, 2026, sweeping away entire communities and destroying infrastructure, including roads, water systems, and communication networks.

The flooding has affected an estimated 84,000 people, including more than 32,000 children, all of whom are at great risk of exploitation, malnutrition, disease, and violence.

The Blue Butterfly Foundation (BBF) has started a special fundraiser for flood relief victims.

We concentrate our efforts in 3 distinct and vital areas:
  • Protection from the heightened risk of exploitation and human trafficking, including being sold into industrialized slave labor, sex slavery, and other horrifying conditions.
  • Providing education for children whose schools have been destroyed and no longer offer safe spaces to learn and play.
  • Providing mental healthcare to families, especially children, to help them reclaim a sense of security and aid recovery.

Be a part of the solution! We are a volunteer organization, so every $1 donated goes straight to those in need.

Nepal Flood Victims

Burn and Domestic Violence Awareness

With few building codes and substandard electricity, thousands of urgent burn cases occur each day across Nepal. There are no fire alarms—not even in schools—and no education and/or resources to handle the growing need.

Often, the burn victims are women and children. Many women are victims of domestic abuse via boiling water, being lit on fire, or acid attacks. Women are also the ones home cooking in unsafe conditions, and with their wrapped clothing often leads to horrifying burns.

Children are also often victims of abuse, as well as getting into precarious situations where they are burned via accidents and a lack of understanding by their parents.

  • BBF seeks to create awareness campaigns around the crisis of domestic violence via schools and community programs.
  • We seek to lobby the government to raise awareness about domestic violence and shoddy construction and their immense dangers.
  • Our nationwide campaign will use social media, radio and television spots, community programming, and creative shows.

Mental Health Education and Awareness

Nepal has few to no mental health resources across the country—a country steeped in trauma, especially after the devastating floods. Without proper therapeutic care, exploitation, violence, malnutrition, disease, and poverty will continue to rise.

The BBF is working with the top psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers on the ground in Nepal to destigmatize and create awareness around mental health.

We will visit rural and urban health clinics and schools to educate staff about mental health and train them to handle crises as well as healthful practices.

  • BBF seeks to create awareness campaigns around the mental health crisis via schools and community programs.
  • We seek to lobby the government and NGOs to raise awareness and create campaigns around mental health issues, including violence, addiction, suicide, and much more.
  • Our nationwide campaign will use social media, radio and television spots, community programming, and creative outlets like drama and art.

Education Training

Education in Nepal still lags far behind in teaching methodologies, learning styles, and classroom management, limiting the country’s overall growth. We aim to inspire administrators, teachers, and students to think critically and openly about what they are learning.

  • The BBF seeks to do in-depth teacher and administration trainings on various teaching methodologies, learning styles, and an understanding of the brain and body work together to create the best educational conditions.
  • The BBF seeks to raise awareness of the issues surrounding neurodiversity and destigmatize them.
